The Calmit Group brings together eight companies in five European countries and operates internationally. Like all subsidiaries of the Schmid Industrie Holding, Calmit sets a strong example in terms of quality standards and environmental responsibility.
The Group specializes in the production of limestone, burnt lime products, and calcium carbonates (PCC – precipitated calcium carbonate), as well as in the extraction and processing of various minerals. Its products are used in the construction materials and paper industries, in road construction, and in many other industrial sectors. Through targeted investments in environmentally friendly production processes, Calmit has established itself as a role model within the lime industry. Key focus areas include resource-efficient raw material extraction, closed-loop processes, the use of green energy, and the continuous optimization of energy consumption. Innovative solutions are applied, among other things, in sewage sludge treatment and flue gas desulfurization.
