From grain silo to striking landmark: Kellogg’s Hotel in Bremen represents an outstanding transformation of a listed industrial monument into a contemporary architectural icon. Once a monumental industrial structure, the former silo has been reimagined as a hotel that preserves its powerful identity while opening a new chapter for urban life. Located in the emerging district of Überseeinsel, the building now shapes the area as a new urban focal point.
The project impressed the jury with its exceptional combination of innovation and traditional craftsmanship. By carefully maintaining the industrial character while introducing a bold new function, the architects created a forward-looking architectural statement that connects past and future in a remarkable way.
Particularly highlighted were the courage, vision and dedication of all involved in realizing such a complex and ambitious transformation – resulting in a project that stands out as Europe’s most beautiful façade 2026.
